Trustee Board
Overview
Purpose
The Trustee Board is a team of volunteers who work together, as charity Trustees, to make sure the Scouts is run safely and legally. At the heart of their role is a focus on strategy, performance and assurance. Effective Trustee support helps other volunteers run the Scout programme that gives young people skills for life.

Role Description
The role description of the trustee board is as follows.
Trustee Board Summary Responsibilities
Members of the Group Trustee Board must act collectively as Charity Trustees (if the Scout Group is a registered charity) or with the same duties and responsibilities as Charity Trustees (if they are not registered) and in the best interest of the charity and its members. The following summarises key Trustee Board responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Adhere to Policy Organisation and Rules:
Promote Scouting positively in the local community.
Ensure compliance with data protection legislation
Promote Youth Led Scouting
Promote inclusivity
Manage finances
Manage scouting buildings
Manage insurance
Manage Risks
Ensure POR is followed
Maintain financial reserves and associated policy
Appoint and manage sub-committees
Appoint co-opted trustees
Run selection process to recommend trustees, to be appointed by the Scout Council

To include copy of accounts for the last financial year. 1st April 2023 to 31st March 2024.
